Schroders plc, a British multinational asset management company founded in 1804, employs over 5,000 people across 32 locations worldwide. With a strong legacy of using Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) for Finance, Procurement and HR, Schroders recognised the need to modernise and align with best practice. The organisation embarked on a major transformation, migrating from Oracle EBS to Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications.

The Challenge

Schroders’ employees were highly experienced in the legacy EBS platform but unfamiliar with Oracle Cloud. The shift introduced entirely new ways of working, leaving teams unsure of what to expect and with little context to relate back to their established processes.

To support this transformation, Schroders commissioned Fudgelearn to partner with their System Integrator and internal stakeholders. Our role was to design and deliver a comprehensive training programme spanning:

• Finance (Invoice to Cash, Record to Report, Cost Operations)

• Procurement and Purchase to Pay

The challenge was clear: deliver meaningful training to a decentralised workforce spread across multiple regions, while ensuring consistency, accessibility, and confidence in the new system.

Our Approach

Our Training Needs Analysis (TNA) identified two critical gaps:

1. Support for User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure systems and processes were validated effectively.

2. Building end-user competence and confidence across global teams.

Fudgelearn worked hand-in-hand with Schroders’ implementation partner and project team to design a blended training strategy:

• Classroom & Virtual Training

  • Instructor-led sessions at Schroders’ London headquarters.

  • Interactive virtual sessions for international teams, ensuring global accessibility.

  • Pre-defined hands-on exercises, enabling staff to learn by doing.

• On-Demand Learning Resources

  • Short, captioned training videos – accessible anytime, translated into multiple languages.

  • Quick Reference Guides (QRGs) to provide at-the-desk support.

  • Content published on the company intranet with structured learning paths for ease of navigation.

This approach meant employees could learn in the way that best suited them – whether through live sessions, repeatable videos, or quick on-the-job guides.

The tailored training programme enabled Schroders’ UK and EMEA teams to quickly reach proficiency, maximising ROI on their Oracle Cloud investment. Employees gained the confidence to carry out day-to-day tasks effectively, with just-in-time support available whenever they needed it.

The success of the UK and EMEA rollout is now driving momentum, with Schroders preparing to extend the training programme to other regions globally.
